Let me tell you a story of how I became a wedding officiant?
I came to New York in 2014.
New York was my love at first sight when I was here as a student by work and travel program in 2011 and when I won the green card there were no doubts where I wanted to be.
Of course, it was Newwwwww Yooooork.
When I came here in 2014 I didn’t have no friends, no relatives, no experience, even no English.
Honestly it was the most boring experience I ever had. I was literally dying there because I’m not the “office” person.
All has changed when my wife arrived to New York.
She was a wedding planner in Russia, and the first thing she wanted to do here was to keep doing a wedding business here.
It was her passion, she got a lot of ideas and I didn’t want to stop this spirit.
As you understand, for her work she needed a wedding officiant and one day when I was at work she gave me a call.
Anna (my wife) is a huge fan of the Friends TV show, and one day she gave me a call:
Honey, i just got an idea, do you remember Joey, in a show he married Monica and Chandler, Phoebe and Mike, others…and he got some kind of license in the internet.

At the same time I googled this thing and in a week got my license from American Marriage Ministries.
Also got my day off from the work to register myself with city clerk office of New York.
And on May 30, 2027 I became licensed wedding officiant in New York.
Ta-dam.
Such a New York story, right.
